Privacy Policy

Filipino Mahjong Online ("the App") is a free-to-play multiplayer Filipino Mahjong game. This policy explains what data the App collects, how it is used, and your rights.

Data We Collect

Player display names. When you create or join a game room, you enter a display name. This name is sent to our game server so other players can identify you during the game.

Display names are ephemeral — they are held in server memory only for the duration of the game room and are automatically discarded when the room closes.
Display names are not stored in any database or log after the game session ends.
Display names are not linked to any identity — the App has no user accounts, no login, and no persistent profile.

Data We Do Not Collect

No email addresses, phone numbers, or contact information
No location data
No device identifiers or advertising IDs
No financial or payment information (the App is free with no in-app purchases)
No photos, files, or media from your device
No browsing or search history

Analytics

The mobile app (iOS and Android) does not collect any analytics or usage data. Third-party analytics are disabled in the native app builds.

The web version at filipinomahjongonline.com may use PostHog for usage analytics. On web, this may include your in-game display name as a person property, along with product interaction events. No analytics data from the web version is linked to mobile app users.

Local Storage

The App stores a session token locally on your device to enable reconnection if you are temporarily disconnected during a game. This token is:

Stored only on your device (never transmitted to third parties)
Automatically invalidated when the game room closes
Not used for tracking or identification purposes

Voice Chat & Microphone Access

The iOS app does not include voice chat and does not request microphone access.

On platforms where voice chat is available, it is optional. When you enable voice chat:

The App may request access to your device's microphone (for example, the RECORD_AUDIO permission on Android)
Audio is transmitted in real time to other players in the same game room and is not recorded or stored on our servers
You can mute or disable voice chat at any time during gameplay
If you deny microphone access, the rest of the App functions normally — voice chat is entirely optional

Network Communication

The App connects to our game server via encrypted WebSocket (WSS) for real-time gameplay synchronization. All communication uses HTTPS/TLS encryption. No data is sent to any third-party servers from the mobile app.

Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, or transfer any user data to third parties. There is no advertising in the App.

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The App contains no user accounts, no chat, and no social features beyond the in-game display name visible to other players in the same room.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
